Smart Goals : Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Tangible.

peak1When setting goals the following criteria will make your goals more accessible and attainable.

Specific: When writing your goals state exactly what it is you wish to achieve, and how you wish to achieve it. Someone else should be able to read your goals and understand exactly what it is you are aiming for.

Measureable: You must be able to measure the goal, breaking it into parts makes it easier to measure and see results and what has been accomplished to date

Achievable: Don’t set yourself a goal that is not physically possible to achieve you are only setting yourself up for failure and disappointment.

Realistic: Be realistic about your goals, it is good to set big goals but if they are unrealistic and physically not possible this can have a negative impact. Set interim more realistic goals that can be achieved and that make the ultimate goal more realistic.

Tangible: Goals that you can visualise, taste or smell are more likely to materialise, if you want a new mini cooper, visualise yourself inside the car, imagine how it would make you feel, imagine the smell what you can see around you.
