Technology an enemy of Focus?
In the age we are living in we find ourselves immersed in technology, there have never been quite so many distractions available to take our focus away from the job at hand. We have blackberry’s, iphones, email, instant messaging, facebook, LinkedIn, twitter and many many more.
Staying connected has never been easier but staying connected with what matters has become a little more challenging. We are being told to work on our online marketing strategy as well as our offline one, so how do we find time for all of this and stay focused.
The trick is to treat our digital marketing as another task in our daily schedules but not to let it take over our lives.
Firstly, decide which social networking sites you are going to use for your digital campaign, are you going to use twitter or facebook, LinkedIn or YouTube, or are you going to focus on creating a good blog? (For more information on social media marketing logon to www.krishnade.com)
When you have decided which ones are most appropriate for your business, schedule time to work on the campaign. Focus on one at a time until you are happy that it is working for you. There is no point in having a page or a profile on each which are incomplete and don’t do you or your company justice. As Confucius said “He who chases two rabbits catches none”.
Remember to treat your social networking like your email, schedule blocks of time daily to check messages etc, do not allow yourself to be distracted each time an email or message arrives, the best way to do this is to turn off all email notification and stay focused on the job at hand.
Good Luck
